Blue Lagoon, Grindavik

minus 2 windchill, lovely

Driving through the landscape on which they tested the moonbuggies, a twisted, contorted wreckage of a landscape. Volcanic rock with a sparse but luminous coating of moss its a bizzarre but nevertheless outstandingly beautiful sight that slips into view. The Blue lagoon, a by-product of a geothermal powerplant is much derided but something not to be missed. The wind is blowing a "feels like" -2 and with a faint whiff sulphur it really is a bath temperature oasis in the desert. "this is what we came for".
